RIP Bunny
Michelle Callanan (Bunton)
14/6/1974 - 26/12/2008

I have built this site to help communicate the most often question I am asked, "How is Bunny?"

I can't help the doctors but I can build websites.  Hopefully this site won't be just one way traffic as I will setup the site to allow you to post messages and respond.

The bad news is that Bunny's breast cancer returned in an agressive manner.  She started chemo but she passed away peacefully on the 26th December 2008 after a brave fight.

If you don't already know I am sorry you are finding out via a webpage.

Post a message to Bunny and register with the site I will add more stuff as I can.

Email any queries to tellme@howisbunny.com or contact me.

Thanks to all those who have offered themselves and prayers they are very much appreciated.

Goodbye my lover

Sean

Bunny thanks you for the support.

It's been a while since I blogged here, I know this may not be read but it needs to be written.

3 years ago I had one of the best days of my life when I married Bunny. I don't remember nerves because I remember the peace, the laughter and yes the waiting... thanks U2. Parts of this year have been tough & challenging but I'm also lucky & grateful for the year I've had. I still think of Bun often, I miss her but I know she's happy.

I know the next month will be filled with memories of late last year, I won't avoid it, I can't. Remember this is still HowIsBunny not HowIsSean... I'm doing OK, sure it's not all great all the time but the "smiler" is in front of the "frowner" as a good friend of mine would say.

To the people who are keeping me smiling, thanks, especially you sweetness.

As Bun would say to all of you, "Bless ya"

Reflecting on things especially at this time of year makes me remember the effort Bun went to for others.  Especially at birthdays, she loved everything about them.  Bun would never describe herself as a thinker but rest assured for the 11 months preceding anyone's birthday she was always thinking about it.  Our "magic" wardrobe was always full of presents with mental notes on all of them.  We all know how hard she was to buy for which she did finally admit to me after several years of explaining that her generousity was so much that is was not normal.  Bless her, we wouldn't have her any other way.

So as one of her best mates Lish had her birthday this week and another Melissa waits for the stork to arrive and turn a year older we all know that Bun is still with us ... Read More »

Just got home from Adam Hills show, it was filled with plenty of laughs but the show had a heavy message for me at least. The shows title is Inflatable and is dedicated to some friends Adam Hills recently lost. He described his friends as Inflaters, people who lift people up and we all have the ability to inflate or deflate others. His story about his friend even included them wearing Bunny ears. It doesn't take much but how can you not think of Bunny with a story like that...

She was definitely an Inflater and continues to inflate those who knew her.

You don't often leave a comedy show and cry on the drive home, I miss you Babe, but I am so happy you inflated my life.

 Bless Ya Bunny

Thanks to our creative team of Larry, Laz & Hilario for terrific work on the booklet for the service.  I'm glad we went with an 8 page booklet as anything less would have been useless as a fan.

Bunny funeral booklet - special thanks to the artists - Rhys, Eden, Archer & Julia

Also Larry also produced an extended mix booklet which included everything this website has.

Kindred Spirits Sean, we couldn't agree more with regard to Rhys and Eden's friendship being a gift from Bun. Shane and I commented on it a number of times as the two of them were inseperable at the beach. Their constant smiling, laughter, whispering and contentment just to be together reminded me of so many special shared moments that Bun and I had also. She is everywhere for me, although she didn't love camping, she never failed to visit us at the foreshore every year, sitting under the shade shelter, wrapped up in towels (reaching for the eskie!). She gave us the beach chairs that we use every day as a christmas present one year, her name appeared on the scorepads in our games that are kept in the caravan and only appear once a year, we drank from the strawberry glasses (also kept in the van) that she loved so much and threatened to steal every year. My best friend didn't just pop in this year - she was with us the whole time. I'm sure she was with you at Philip Island too, she's going to be one b

With Sympathies Dear Sean & Family, Just returning from 3 weeks leave I just found out that a wonderful person Michelle and a collegue of of nearly 8 years passed away. I was shocked by the news and I can still remember the day she told me her wedding day to you. She will be sorely missed. I am sorry I could not have been at her service to wish her a final good bye to a better place but I know if she could have chosen it would have been here with you. All my heartfelt and kind wishes Dawn Medibank Private Submitted By: Dawn Middleton

Thinking of you...... Hi Sean, Tim and I need to say that Bunny truly was an amazing women(you already know that).. This was proved by having had a wonderful farwell on Tuesday the 9th of Jan. I said to Tim "there is no way that I would have that many people at my funeral" so I asked him to please call rent a crowd!! It just goes to show just how many people Bunny did touch in her life and there were many more that could not be there due to being else where in the world.. Sean, we think about you every single day also your boys LOL jade and Rhys.. Love Cath Tim Jake and bogan Camryn!! PS I am sure she is going to be a bogan or what ever they will be branded in the year 2025!! and as Bunny would say Bless her!! Submitted By: Cath

I agree with you Celestine, Bunny has left so much for us to take on board and incorporate into our liives. Yesterday, I wrote in large capital letters on the whiteboard in our kitchen "LIVE LIFE LIKE YOUR ARSE IS ON FIRE" Next week I'll write 'ASK SOMEONE WHAT THEY HAD FOR DINNER LAST NIGHT. Maybe the week after just .... ABSO BLOODY LUTELY! I think between us all we would have enough 'Bunnyisms' to inspire every week for at least a year.... Mairs Submitted By: Mairs

The wirld lost one of it's brightest shining lights on Boxing day. I knew Bunny for 6 or so years. You could never walk away from a chat with Bunny without a smile on your face. We chatted about Babra and ABBA and all good things in this world. We gossiped we giggled and when I was lost she was an ear. I can't help but sit here and wonder why such an angel was taken. Sean my thoughts are with you, your family and Bunny's family. Love you and miss you Bunny... Lil xxx Submitted By: Lilly Madden-Scott

Bunny showed us how to make a difference in the world and today we have to make her proud and pick up where she left off - you can start by asking someone what they had for dinner last night! Michelle has given us all a special gift so go ahead - find your inner bunny! Submitted By: Celestine
